Fav Songs that Tell Relatable Stories

I'm Already There (Westlife)

The story:
This is about a dad/ husband who's far from his family for the moment, obviously due to work. From his hotel room, he calls home to know how the others are doing. It's about missing home. :'( Beautiful song. Love Westlife always...

Just Friends (Jonas Brothers)

The story:
This one tells a story about a friendship between this guy and a girl friend of his. A typical friends-since-schooltime story. At first they were just friends who hung out and chill together. But then, the guy started to develop a feeling of fondness towards the girl. "I don't wanna lead you on, but the truth is I've grown fond.." Like duh..right. :) Still, because their friendship is so precious to him, he just played it cool. He knew that what's meant to be is meant to be no matter what. It's really cute! The cutest part (to me) is the last verse. They walked down the aisle!!! ^o^

That Girl (McFly)

The story:
So, it started with a guys' day out. It's a random thing, where this guy saw this girl who caught his eye. A total stranger..but out of playfulness, he just approached the girl to chit chat. So, they hung out and had fun. Then this one day, the poor guy found out that the girl was two-timing him (Well, that's what you get when you fall for a complete stranger, dear. Now you know.). So, that became a chapter of the story of his life. But the best part about this song is..they're so so so good with the music!!! Especially Danny with the guitar solo in the middle of the song. Woah...kan??

White Horse (Taylor Swift)

The story:
It's actually a phone call from the guy to the girl. They'd been in a cold situation lately, so, he calls her to reconcile with her. The guy sort of blew it for them. Then she realised that maybe it would be better to just let go. So, she's trying to explain what she really thinks of through the phone call. In the real music video, their conversation goes something like...

Guy: Do you love me?
Girl: Yes..
Guy: Will you give me another chance?
Girl (at the end of the song): ...No... (hung up)

This one's really a calm break-up song (for the girl). Enjoy it!

Get Ready, Get Set, Don't Go (Miley Cyrus feat. Billy Ray Cyrus)

The story:
This song tells the story of a daughter leaving home to pursue her dreams somewhere else. Just like us, going to college, off to work...being apart from our parents. So...as she has finished packing and loading her stuff, she asks for her dad's blessings before she leaves..huhu... And the dad willingly gives her his best wishes but unwillingly lets her go. She's still daddy's little girl to him. Then, the daughter reassures her dad that she'll be fine even on her own. Whether they like it or not, they have to say goodbye. So, remember girls...your daddy loves you! ;)

I Think We're Alone Now (The Click Five)

The story:
It's about these 2 young lovers who try to get away from everyone else so that no one can tell them this or that...and they successfully ran away. So they ran and ran and ran... You can just imagine the plot. Purely adorable. Actually I put this song in 'cos I just love the band. :D And this song has been sung in many other versions.

Before the Storm (Nick Jonas feat. Miley Cyrus)

The story:
Love this song!!! So, the scene is when it's raining. The 2 soon-to-be-exes are trying to confirm how things really are between them. There are 2 sides..the girl, who's ready to just let go but wants to make sure the guy will be alright...and the guy, who really doesn't want to let it be over but realises that he has to swallow the hard cold reality. As the title suggests, it's like a storm, that happens without being planned, and once it occurs, it'll leave an impact. Sad, huh...poor them..but I'm sure they'll be fine.

Well..that's about it for now. Those songs mentioned above are among my favourites. I know that there are many other songs that tell great stories. So, please feel free to share them. Music makes this life lively, doesn't it?

Chao!
